Lifestyle photos make the brand and are shown to increase sales. Working within a brand, you must stay consistent across photos. It’s a lot of getting the details right — from making sure the rugs are combed, to finding just the right dog… I enjoy finding complementary items for the products I’m helping sell — and have created a running list of where to get what.
The right set can make or break the photo. Creating a cohesive style based on a vision, and working with that set’s budget to bring that vision to life is challenging and rewarding at the same time. Also, working within time constraints to meet daily quotas promotes the creation of workflows and new improved processes.
When styling and shooting 100s of photos a week, you need to be creative with how to get something on set, and set up quickly… Tape? Fishing line? Foam core? Pinning? Foil tape?… Yep, used them all. Whatever it takes to get something to look good for the camera.
Chewy has over 150k followers on their instagram account, and photos form my sets are often highlighted and gather 1,000s of likes. These photos need to match the goals of the social media team, and work well across different form factors and devices, including mobile.
